The Drawing Room were delighted to work with representatives from each of the fifteen YOUNG ENTERPRISE teams from the area. We ran a workshop on Visual Merchandising prior to the teams setting up their own stalls on Inverness High Street. The young people involved proved to be extremely talented making the most of their imaginative products on sale.

The Young Enterprise Company Programme has been running for over twenty years in Highland. This year fifteen teams of senior school students from across the area have started their own small business and are developing ideas and products, supported by a teacher and an adviser from their local business community. As well as learning how to overcome challenges, the young people develop a skill set that complements their education and gives them an added advantage when seeking future employment. Already this year the teams have faced a set of Highland ‘Dragons’ who quizzed each team on its business concept and offered advice as to the strengths and weaknesses of each, as well as offering advice and practical support. The next major event in the Young Enterprise local calendar is the Trade Fair which will take place in Inverness High Street on the 13th December between 10am and 3pm. Teams from Farr to Fochabers, and Lochaber to Lossiemouth will set up their market stalls on the busiest trading Saturday of the year to sell their products to members of the public.
