The Rambler has just received the following message, giving details for the Summer Gala, on Sunday 29th June at 2pm, from Cold Ashby Children's Playground Project Team:
We are very pleased to announce FREE ENTRY to all and lots of car parking on the field itself. Please park at the Bowls club entrance on West Haddon Road, there will be signs to direct you.
So what's going to be there?
Family sports and Games
We have lots of fun activities planned throughout the day including a full programme of traditional fun sports games which are free to enter with prizes to be won for various age groups. Who will be the Cold Ashby Gala Egg and Spoon champion of 2014?! Come and take part or cheer them all on!
There will also be a Welly Wanging competition for children and adults throughout the afternoon with prizes for the winners.
Cold ashby Golf Club will be running a golf competition with a round of golf for 2 on offer as a prize, plus children's golf.
Cold Ashby Bowls club will also be running both adults and children's competitions with prizes and the Bowls club will be open to view.
Kids Activities
There will be a bouncy castle, Free crafts and activities for kids and the chance to get your face painted too!
Fun stalls will include Whack the Rat! and Hook a duck
Stalls
Stalls include Carys' Craftroom - beautiful handmade gifts, Local home-made Jams & Chutneys, Phoenix Trading Cards, Kids Book World - fantastic selection of children's books at amazing prices!, Home-made cakes, Plants, Sweets and Treats tombola
Raffle
We have some fantastic prizes to be won in our raffle including a Fresh fruit and Veg hamper from Farndon Fields Farm shop, Cream Tea for 2 at Catthorpe Manor Farm shop, Family season ticket for Mini Meadows farm Welford, Family Photoshoot plus A4 print by Kasia Zaluska photography, £10 voucher for Print & Glaze ceramic children's prints, Port, Whiskey, Pimms, Children's book bundle, Phoenix Trading cards voucher and cards and more!

Pavilion Bar open for alcoholic, soft and hot drinks.

Something we wish we could plan… but rain or shine we will be open with covered stalls!
We do hope you will be able to join us for a fun family afternoon and help us raise some more funds for the new playground equipment we are aiming to install this year. Since August 2013 the fundraising has been amazing and anyone following our story will know that we are so nearly there with achieving our Goal of over £40K!!!
