Some rambling thoughts and observations on local and national issues.

Common sense prevails in Norfolk - but is it too late for Northants?

by Ashby Rambler - 09:44 on 31 May 2012

The Rambler rejoices in the High Court Ruling last Tuesday that the preservation of  Hemsby’s landscape character is more important than government targets.
It’s certainly time for proper consideration to be given to the feelings and wishes of our local communities over the dictates of central government and/or Europe.
Unfortunately,  so far in Northamptonshire the norm is for local objections to be overturned at appeal.
Consequently we are at risk of becoming one vast onshore wind farm with mere scraps of our formerly unspoilt rural landscape available for locals and visitors.
