Situated in Duisdalemore on the south coast of the Isle of Skye, our self catering holiday home, The Bungalow, is an ideal place to spend your holiday.
With superb views, from Skye, eastwards across the Sound of Sleat towards the mainland, the panorama stretching from Glenelg in the north, past Loch Hourn to the Knoydart Peninsular in the south.
During your holiday vacation you might watch the sun rise from behind the hills, the evening glow on them as it sets behind you at the end of the day and the ever changing view dependent upon the time, light and weather.

Set in its own grounds, off the A851 Broadford to Armadale road, in south Skye, the property which was our home for a number of years, has been refurbished throughout and consists of two comfortable double bedrooms, relaxing sitting room, large sun room with 180º views and which incorporates the dining area, newly fitted and fully equipped kitchen and wc/bathroom with shower over the bath.
Externally there are a veranda, gardens with seating and a large gravelled parking area. Electric storage heaters provide regular warmth within the well insulated property and the cost of this and the hot water is included within the weekly price.
There is a telephone with honest box, two TVs with freeview boxes, and a DVD player along with a small library of DVDs and books.
A stereo “separates” system provides radio, CD and tape facilities. Bedding is provided in the form of duvets on the two beds but please bring your own towels.

Please note: There are a couple of steps to both the front & rear access to the property which may hinder the less able.

Situated in an ideal location for wildlife spotting, including otters, seals, dolphins, sea eagles buzzards, heron and more.
The Eilean Iarmain Hotel is a well known hotel/restaurant/bar a mile and a half away in the picturesque harbour at Isle Ornsay,
the Kinloch Lodge Hotel, owned by Lord and Lady Macdonald (Claire Macdonald the TV chef) has a Michelin Star chef and is also 2 miles away.
The 4 star Duisdale Hotel & Restaurant is only 200 yards away.
The town of Broadford with shops, garage, chemist post office and pubs is 9 mile way, the Skye Bridge, (which has been toll free since 2005) from the Kyle of Lochalsh is 12 miles away
and if you prefer to come to Skye via boat, the car ferry runs regularly between Armadale, 9 mile away to Mallaig on the mainland.
Booking for the ferry crossing to and from Skye is advisable and a return ticket is cheaper than two singles.
There is also the small 4 car ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea for the more adventurous.
If you’ve decided upon Skye for your holiday then you’ll probably already know about the Cuillins, the Trotternish Ridge, the Quirang and the Old Man of Storr, all spectacular geographical features which are much photographed and appear on many calendars and in books. There are walks to suit all levels, there’s also boat trips from Elgol to Loch Coruisk, Armadale Gardens, the Museum of Island Life, Dunvegan Castle, Serpentarium and much more to see and do with art galleries, potteries and other craft exhibitions and sales.
Further afield, on the mainland, there is Eilean Donan Castle, possibly the most photographed castle in Scotland,
Plockton, Lochcarron with nearby Atterdale Gardens and Applecross just some of the places in easy reach and well worth a visit while you stay at our home. They are all easily reachable from our holiday cottage.

All in all, an excellent, central location for both the Isle of Skye and mainland western Scotland, providing a base where you can either relax and watch the view, enjoy walks on all levels or tour and discover the area.
