Theatre-Studio "Illusion"
Theatre Studio "Illusion" is a theatre club for children aged 5-18 who would like to develop their drama and theatre skills over the course of a school year.
This club is located in the Russian school building at the following address
Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, Russian Orthodox Church, Dublin 1, Ireland.
The classes run on Saturdays and time will vary depending on the age group.
Duration of lesson: 1 hour
Langauge classes are taught: Russian
Price: 5 per lesson
Age groups available:
5-10
11-15
15-18 (depending on class size children may be put into the younger classes)
Skills:
During these lessons (1hour in duration) children will learn skills such as
- body movement and voice control
- emotional control
- improvisation
- character development
- how to work in front of a camera
- how to work in front of an audience
- Lighting, microphone, prop and costume use.
- Self-confidence
- working with other people, both older and younger
- Development of russian language (aural)
- dance
The childs personal needs are met e.g., language barriers or physical disabilities. (We are not specialized in dealing with mental disabilities but a unique approach can be taken with the help of the guardian)
Activities:
Children take part in a series of activities which follow the skills set out for the year. Children are not forced to particiapte but particiaption is key when it comes to developing the needed skills.
Performances:
Children of all ages will perform for end of semester, age group and special occasion plays.
During this time, children will be required to attend the rehearsals as it is vital for the child to know both their lines and places on stage. This also includes costume change practices.
