Entry charges

The Smiddy costs about £3,000 per year to run. We have public liability insurance, and we have to pay over £300 for water and drainage despite using very little of either. And of course we have to pay for coal and steel as well as electricity and maintenance costs.  All the "staff", including our blacksmith John, are unpaid volunteers.

Despite that we only charge £3.50 entry for adults and £2 for concessions. Family groups are charged £7. You are of course free to donate some more if you would like to help The Smiddy survive.
