Is this the truth behind the attempted Corbyn coup?

The battle for the leadership (and soul) of the Labour Party proceeds at a pace that even social media is struggling to keep up with. I have just come across this very interesting piece that suggests a link that could take us right back to Blair himself. And included within the article you will find other familiar names too, including Gordon Brown, Glenys Kinnock,  and my old friend Peter (now Lord) Hain.

Observers of the news on BBC TV the last five days cannot but fail to have noticed the almost constant presence of Blair's Goebbels, the one time nasty drunk and dodgy dossier writer, Alastair Campbell. And he features very much in this article as well. He is still raging like a demented dervish and when I saw him on TV earlier had the nerve to say how could you imagine Corbyn meeting with leaders like Merkel, Hollande and even Trump. What despicable spitefulness. If Corbyn was our Prime Minister he would have more right to sit at the table with these people than the unelected Spinmeister often did with his Fuhrer, Blair.

And don't forget that the Chilcot Report is published on 6 July. Anything that can divert attention away from it is going to help Blair and we know how critical Corbyn has been about Blair's involvement in Iraq.

It's not lost on me that Angela Eagle is being put up against Corbyn for the leadership. PPS to Eagle was Stephen Kinnock and will surely have a high profile in her bid.

The fact that Corbyn has stood his ground and will not go gentle into that good night means that this is now a fight for the very survival of the Labour Party. It comes down to who owns it? Is it its members, or is it the MPs? If it does eventually come to a vote I see only two scenarios and in both Labour is screwed.

1. Corbyn re-elected. Labour in Westminster unworkable. Come the General Election either there will need to be a whole raft of new Labour MPs standing or their credibility with the electorate will be rock bottom.

2. Eagle elected. Westminster might work but come the General Election they will be crucified.

It's a lose-lose situation and has come to this because of the rebellion against Corbyn. When Labour are trounced or even split into two and are still hammered, don't blame Corbyn. Because the fault lies in those that have deliberately fanned the flames of unrest and fomented rebellion just at the time they needed to pull together.
