The Donkey Saga continues

Never let it be said I am not big enough a man to apologise. I am sorry. I have been misled about the Ynysarwed Donkey. The photograph I published about the beast that was badly in need of a haircut with someone resembling our MP - well, the donkey was an impostor.

However, there is still the matter of the reward for finding the animal, £50, which was obviously remitted in error to the Neath Constituency Labour Party. If their Treasurer would be so kind as to return the money (send it to the Editor of the Neath Ferret) I am sure we can resolve the matter without resorting to solicitors.

Someone has sent me a photo of another donkey, apparently rescued from the lower end of the River Neath this week. I must say I'm not sure about the claim that this donkey is the Ynysarwed one. After all, it is smiling and looks happy, but maybe that's because it's lost its rosette and is now free to think for itself.

There's a lot of work this time of year for donkeys so it's possible the real Ynysarwed one will turn up in the Job Centre looking for a slot in a Nativity play. Alternatively it may head for Zoar's Ark where they sell hay. Just get a photo if you can and send it here. Any contribution appreciated.
