How many comments have members of the Staffin Community Council received about the state of the local roads? It has taken us since Christmas, badgering Community Services (roads come under this title) in Portree, but we hope you agree that it feels so much better to be able to lift your head up, to be able to pay due heed to other motorists & enjoy the scenery when driving in the area now, rather than heads down trying to avoid the potholes. Sure, it’s not perfect but a journey over the Quiraing or a ride down to Staffin beach is no longer quite the nerve-wracking, car damaging experience it once was! Their work is very much appreciated.
We’d like to keep it like this. Comments filled in on the Highland Council website were responded to (thanks to everybody who did just that!) as were emails direct to Mr Macleod so let’s make the effort let him know as soon as problems arise. The link to the Highland Council is http://www.highland.gov.uk/info/20005/roads_and_pavements/96/road_faults and Mr Macleod’s work email is Donnie.MacLeod2@highland.gov.uk, if you’d like to tell him direct or you could chat with him on (01478) 614847! Please copy in the Staffin Community Council info@staffincc.org.uk too so that we can continue to try to keep on top of things. We may be able to help with other issues too – we’re your Community Council!”
