We have just received this email from Sergeant Bruce Crawford asking us to make everyone aware:

In response to concerns raised by members of the local community through the Community Council, local officers will be deployed to Staffin to undertake increased patrols and static speed checks. This will be in addition to patrols that are carried out by the Roads Policing Unit who regularly travel to Skye.  I appeal to members of the community to be mindful of the speed limits through the village and hope that the area remains a very safe place to live and work as we approach another busy season.

I have passed on the concerns to the team and asked that patrols are carried out whenever possible including some static checks.
