Welcome to the Southhams 150 club
What is it ?
Its a lottery club for the people of the South Hams. Only 150 people will be allowed to join.
Why 150 ? Because of administration, 200 is too many, and 100 maybe is too little, so I have plumped for 150.
How much is it ? The cost is £20 per month, taken by standing order from your bank account on the 1st of every month. It will be YOUR responsibility to ensure funds are there, if not you will not be entered in that months draw.Any 2 consecutive months of funds not being available and sadly I will have to close your account and send you a cheque for the balance owed, as other people may be waiting to join.
How many tickets do we have ?
In total 450 per weekend !!! ....150 x one on the friday euromillions and 2 on the saturday lottery (when the sat lottery changes in ??? to £2 it will be one euro and one saturday ticket)
Why £20 ? There are 52 weeks in the year times £4-50 per week each divided by the monthly cost which is £19-50 per month, the other 0.50p is for administration, cost of web site stamps etc if 100 people won large and wanted a cheque thats £60 in stamps alone !!
Why pay us by cheque ? Its much easier to keep records straight that way, and I can sort payments on weekends too.
When you want to take any winnings or even close the account, just email me and I will send a cheque with 3 days.
How will we know if we have won ? There will be an option to have copies of all the 450 tickets sent to your email address to check, before 6pm on Friday - if you just want to know the total won that will be on the web site here. There will be a total visible for each weeks winnings and a running total too. Individual winnings will appear no later than 6pm every sunday night on a spreadsheet on this site.
You will need an alias or nickname to see what your winnings are. Important !! choose a name that no-one can guess, not sidfromsainsury58 or dorisfromasda346 as they could guess who you are. (unless of course you want that !)

Will you run off with our money !
Haha ! No definitely not, but I suppose I would say that. I try to be honest and up front, all of my family are in the club too, so they wouldnt be very happy. I will ask for member volunteers to visit me and audit the books once every 2 months and I will put a report on the web site, I can only offer a cup of tea and slice of cake, but it should only be a 20 minute job to check everything.
Why do it at all ?
I like seeing happy people, if we can have a good win, it will bring wealth to the area, and business and local people will benefit. No-one will help us particularly government, we have to help ourselves that is reality.
Can friends join ? Anyone locally can join, up to the 150 limit, if £20 seems a lot, you could get 3 friends to put in £5 each a month
Can any local good causes benefit ?
Absolutely ! There will also be a charity box on the site that if anyone wins and wants to donate anything from a pound upwards it goes into that box, and a member at random can choose the local charitable cause, also any excess administration left over cash can go into that.
Do you do anything else for local people ?
Yes there is a WHATS ON page, I will add to myself if I see events in the area, also YOU can email me to tel me about events. Also I would like local businesses to advertise here, again so OUR money stays locally
So how much can we expect to win ? this is a LOTTERY ! there are no guarantees, but at worst possibly or maybe you will get 20% -40% of your original stakes, but you may also have a fair chance of a big prize, but to think of waking up on a weekend and think your life may change that day, and never having to work again ......I personally think its worth it.
