The product in question is not a chemical or fertiliser, but a certified organic soil conditioner called:

This is in preparation for the dry spell which meteorologists have predicted.
The sprayed application sinks into the ground after a few hours and is safe for all humans, dogs and other animals. It can be used on all land under Countryside Stewardship agreements.
The Board appreciates that for the future, it will be much preferable to publicise information about any such soil treatments before they happen, to avoid misunderstandings.
