Sew Good Curtains & Blinds have been shortlisted in the Vibes enviromental awards 2009 for our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.
Sew Good strive to make people aware of the steps we take personaly and as a company.
Our vehicles run on pure recycled vegetable oil (bio fuel) reducing our use of fossil fuel by around 2500 litres per annum.
We also pass on old curtains and unwanted materials from clients to a charity in Govan Glasgow called Starter Packs who re-use or recycle whatever we can supply them. If they cannot re -use something they will then cut up and turn it in to beautiful items of retro clothing or even small handbags etc.
By passing this unwanted material to this group this year we have reduced around 80 kg of that would normaly head for landfill and the more people hear of this I am sure they too will pass on their old unwanted curtains and materials!
Starter packs are just about to launch a project Sew Good, So Green in which we as a company will work closely with them to ensure we create a better enviroment for tomorrow.
We are having a judges visit on the 5th of October so wish us luck!
