john JOHN MANNING

Scotpod is an internet radio station that was set up in May 2012 by John Manning and is supported by a group of seven volunteer presenters.

John began his career as a radio presenter 30 years ago and has had the privilege of working with various radio stations, such as Westsound, Central F.M and BBC Radio Scotland. During this time he also became a Television presenter for the BBC, had his own cable television show and was regularly seen as the desk Sergeant in Taggert.

At the top of his career in 2010 he got recognition from the Queen for his work and achievements in radio. Also this year John had a major stroke and left the hospital unable to walk and with slurred speech, he thought his career and his life was over.  Determine to get control of his life and back to work John found it difficult to access information regarding benefits and help, but the most difficult for him was to overcome his physical difficulties and retrain his body to returned to work, he did this by converting his double garage into a internet radio station and thus creating Scotpod, this has become an essential part of his recovery.

John and his team have programmes running nightly with a variety of music choices from loves songs to rock and roll. Now they want to create a station with a difference to provide support for survivors of Strokes and heart attacks, to help them retrain for work and to allow individuals to take control of lives for a better future.
