Cardiff slap £5m price tag on Mutch

@Sunderlandafc11

Sunderland will have to pay around £5million if they are going to persuade Cardiff to sell them Jordon Mutch.

According to walesonline have indicated that Cardiff will not be tempted to sell the attacking midfielder unless Sunderland come up with the figure of £5m.

Gus Poyet's original offer of around £3.5m was turned down out of hand and they want more, but with Mutch heading into the last year of his present deal they could be left with a player whose value will plummet after September 1.

Mutch, 22, was among Cardiff’s leading lights in the Premier League last season and has a major role in Soslkjaer’s plans to take City back up at the first attempt.

Derby-born Mutch has one year left on his contract, but Solskjaer will offer him a new deal and sources in Cardiff insist Sunderland are still to register a firm offer.

He was Cardiff’s top Premier League scorer in 2013/14 with seven goals and was outstanding in both matches against Sunderland, scoring in the 2-2 draw in South Wales.
