Sunderland are preparing a bid for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.

According to The Daily Star Sunday Sunderland boss Gus Poyet wants him back and a £8m bid for the Italian, 23, is expected.

Borini.has just returned to Liverpool after being on loan to Sunderland last season.
