John O'Shea wants Sunderland consistency

John O'Shea has warned his Sunderland teammates that their record-breaking 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday will count for little unless they beat the teams around them.

Fabio Borini struck an 82nd-minute penalty to help the Black Cats breathe fresh life into their relegation battle and end Jose Mourinho's 77-game unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge in the process.

However, with Gus Poyet's men sat bottom of the Premier League table with a game in hand, one point adrift of safety, O'Shea was quick to highlight the importance of replicating the performance today for their remaining four games of the season.

He told BBC Sport: "We can't just do it against the so-called big teams, we have to do it every week and then we'll get a chance.

"We have to believe we can stay up. We've given ourselves a great chance."
