Defender Wants Fiorentina Stay
Fiorentina’s on loan central defender Modibo Diakite has committed his future to club after the present season according to the player’s agent Ulisse Savini.
Diakite was one of a 14 players to be brought in by Roberto De Fanti in last summer but he failed to impress managing only 7 Premier league starts before being shipped out on loan to Serie A side Fiorentina in January
The 27-Year-Old is currently on loan from Sunderland but a permanent deal could be negotiated at the conclusion of the present season.
“He wants to stay in purple,” Savini revealed to Radioblu.
“We have a verbal agreement with the club that we will meet after the Coppa Italia final but there is nothing concrete at present.
“A lot will depend on the fortunes of Sunderland who are struggling to avoid relegation.
“If the player has his will, he would remain at Fiorentina.
“Modibo has been playing a lot on the right of defense but I think he is better in a central role.
“However this is not an issue as he has already played in this position during his time at Lazio.
