Hamburger SV and former Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne has emerged as a £2m target for Sunderland, according to The Sun

The 26-year-old came through the Blues youth system and broke into the first team back in 2006, before spending time on-loan with both QPR and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mancienne finally left Stamford Bridge permanently in 2011 when Hamburg paid the west Londoners £3m for the ex-England under-21 international.
