Sunderland Hoping To Retain On-Loan Full-Back

@Sunderlandafc11

Sunderland hoping to retain on-loan full-back Marcos Alonso, Who was brought in the January transfer window from Serie A side Fiorentina.

Alonso has impressed boss Gus Poyet enough during his recent performances that they will attempt to secure him for next season.

The 23-year-old had only left England during the summer after completing a move to Florence from Bolton Wanderers, but after appearing in just three Serie A matches for Vincenzo Montella’s team a future seems more likely.

However, according to The Guardian a permanent move to the Stadium of Light for the Spaniard could well rest on the club avoiding relegation with them currently occupying 18th place that would see them demoted.

Alonso began his career in his homeland with Real Madrid, but after two seasons with their B team only ever represented the first-team once and was allowed to depart for Bolton where he finally established himself after their own relegation from the top-flight.
