Gus Poyet hails "great" Ignacio Scocco debut
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has praised Ignacio Scocco after making his debut for the club in their FA Cuptie with Southampton.
The Black Cats made it through to the fifth-round of the cup after a 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light, and Poyet paid tribute to Scocco for a great display.
"I think the idea with Nacho is to start slowly and get him used to the pace of the game – he will get into positions that nobody expects," he told the club's official website.
"He had a great 65 minutes and we'll look forward to seeing him on the pitch in the next few weeks.
"He knows how to see things, he knows how we move the ball and he just needs to get sharp and match fit - the rest he's got in the locker."
