Sunderland want Ever Banega
Sunderland have reportedly contacted Valencia over the availability of midfielder Ever Banega.
The 25-year-old has 24 senior caps for his country and signing Banega would represent something of a coup for Poyet.
Sunderland are pushing to avoid relegation from the Premier League as they currently reside second from bottom in the table.
Sunderland have been searching for new recruits this month, and it has now been reported that the club have made an enquiry over the Argentina international, according to Sky Sports News.
Current Premier League champions Manchester United have also been linked with a swoop for the player, who is said to be keen on leaving Valencia.
