Short willing to make transfer cash available for Sunderland January spending spree
Sunderland owner Ellis Short has given Gus Poyet the green light to spend big in January.
According to the Daily Star he has been given the go-ahead to launch another transfer spree in the New Year, despite already having sparked Sunderland’s survival bid.
Poyet wants to bring in up to five new faces to boost the Black Cats’ battle to beat the drop.
He is also looking to offload some of the 14 players Paolo Di Canio signed during a frenetic summer spree.
