Poyet plans De Fanti transfer talks
Sunderland boss Gus Poyet plans transfer talks with football chief Roberto de Fanti this week.
Poyet has his own ideas on the areas he wants to reinforce when the transfer window opens in the New Year, as the Wearsiders continue to struggle against the drop.
He said: “No, not yet.
“We are going to have a meeting either next week or the beginning of the following week, so then I will know. First we needed to do a general analysis. We needed to look at how we want to play with the players we’ve got available.
“We want to look at the whole picture. Like any manager you want something different. You never change manager as a club, but then keep playing the same way.
“There are players who I know can do what I want and there are others where I want to find someone better, but it’s up to them – they’ve got the time to prove themselves.
“Even if you’re at a top club you’d have a meeting before January to see if there’s a situation you can improve.”
