Gus Poyet on Colback & Borini
Gus Poyet says he intends to play Colback in his favoured midfield role and that derby hero Fabio Borini is pushing for a start against Hull City.
Colback faces competition from a number of players who can also play in midfield but Poyet says that he has been impressed by Colback in training since he arrived.
Gus Poyet said: "I always thought that Jack was a midfielder, I had no doubt about his position on the pitch.
"From the first day I arrived, he trained in the middle, tactical training or any kind of game that we play.
"I talked to him and he feels he is a midfielder as well and when the manager and the player agree I think there is only one outcome."
Poyet also says that forward Borini may feature more prominently in the side after his heroics in the Wear-Tyne derby and that he is showing all the attributes to be a valuable attacking asset for the club.
Poyet said: "He's knocking on the door constantly, he was doing it in traning, he did it somehow in the 20-minutes he played at Swansea and he made the difference against Newcastle.
"It's not easy for the players but for the manager it's great as I've got a great option, it's not like I get to Saturday and I know the team because it's too easy."
