Inter want Giaccherini
According to Goal.com Inter are considering a January move for Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini following Erick Thohir's takeover of the Serie A club
Indonesian businessman Thohir purchased 70 per cent of the Serie A club's shares earlier this week and is keen to make a statement in the January transfer window.
Inter boss Walter Mazzarri, who left Napoli to replace Andrea Stramaccioni in May, has prioritised a wideman and sees Giaccherini as the perfect addition.
The 28-year-old is seen as a realistic transfer target given Sunderland's struggles at the start of the Premier League season, coupled with the recent sacking of fellow Italian Paolo Di Canio.
Wages, however, could provide a stumbling block to any potential transfer, with Inter willing to offer €2.5 million net per year - roughly €47,000 per week.
Giaccherini has been one of the few plus points in what has been a difficult 2013-14 campaign so far for the Wearside club, who currently sit bottom of the Premier League table.
But he has started just 2 of Italy's 5 matches since the Confederations Cup as national coach Cesare Prandelli experiments ahead of the World Cup.
