Larsson happy with Gus Poyet appointment

Seb Larsson believes that new manager Gus Poyet is the right man for the Premier League club

Seb is looking forward to the prospect of working with the Uruguayan after speaking to him earlier this week.

Larsson told the Sunderland Echo: "I talked to him on Tuesday morning,"

"I'm looking forward to meeting him and working with him after playing for the national team.

"He was a very talented footballer himself who did a very, very good job at Brighton."

Larsson endured a frustrating few months under former manager Paolo Di Canio, where he was regularly on the bench or played out of position, and hopes that Poyet will value his contribution to the team.

"Some managers like to tinker more than others, but that's up to them," he added.

"Hopefully, on a personal level, I can settle down into one position and know what the manager wants from me.

"It was a little bit frustrating at times with moving about and not always knowing what the manager wants from you and what he's asking for you to do.

"Hopefully, I'll have a clear idea of what he (Poyet) wants from me on a personal level."
