Emanuele Giaccherini Praises Sunderland Performance Against Man Utd
Emanuele Giaccherini believes Sunderland put in a great performance against Manchester United on Saturday but was left disappointed with the result as his side went down 2-1 in the game.
Sunderland went into half-time with a 1-0 lead, courtesy of a fifth minute goal by Craig Gardner, but a brace from Adnan Januzaj after the restart sealed the deal for the Red Devils at the Stadium of Light.
And the Italian international feels that his side did not react in the desired manner after Manchester United scored the equaliser.
However, the 28-year-old thinks that Sunderland are improving every week and is hopeful about a change in fortunes in the upcoming matches.
Giaccherini told SAFC.com: “I think we gave a great performance, but the result wasn’t good”.
“We didn’t react how we should have once United pulled a goal back, we began playing with fear and lost our momentum. That’s not how we should play.
“There are signs of improvement every week and we have to continue to build on this and hopefully our luck will change.”
