Migs backs Borini to shine

@Sunderlandafc11

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has backed Fabio Borini to shine in Sunderland colours.

The striker joined Sunderland on a season-long loan deal during the summer transfer window after failing to make his mark at Anfield, having arrived from Roma in 2012.

The 22-year-old managed to score just twice in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Reds in the previous campaign, with injuries also hampering his progress.

But Mignolet, who made a switch in the opposite direction in the summer, believes that the Italian international can cause a stir at the Stadium of Light.

The custodian is also hoping Sunderland to do well as his former employers are currently languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table with just a solitary point from five fixtures.

"I know Fabio can do really good things over there, it's a place where he will enjoy playing football”, Mignolet told liverpoolfc.com

"Once he starts scoring goals the fans will love him as well.

"I think it's a very good place for him to be and he will definitely do well for the club. I'm hoping the club does well."
