Ipswich interested in Bardsley
Ipswich Town are interested in Sunderland outcast Phil Bardsley.
According to The Mirror Bardsley, 28, who has no part to play in manager Paolo Di Canio’s plans, will make a loan switch next month when he has recovered from a broken foot that he suffered playing for Sunderland’s Under-21 side.
Salford-born Bardsley started his career with Manchester United and spent time on loan at Royal Antwerp, Rangers, Aston Villa and Sheffield United while at Old Trafford.
After a handful of senior appearances for Manchester United, he moved to Sunderland for £2 million in January 2008. Since then he has made 145 starts and 22 sub appearances, scoring 7 goals.
Bardsley has been out of favour with Di Canio since the build-up to the final game of last season at Tottenham.
