Catts linked with move
Former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is considering making a bid for midfield enforcer Lee Cattermole as he looks to add to his squad. It was a difficult end to the season last time out for Cattermole as injury cost him his place in the side and now the 25-year-old is waiting to see if he has a future at the Stadium of Light under the leadership of Paolo Di Canio.
If not then Bruce is willing to pay £2million for his services as Cattermole is a player he rates highly having signed him for Sunderland after working with him at Wigan.
Di Canio cast doubt over Cattermole's future last week when he did not take him to Hong Kong due to fitness concerns and when asked if the player had a future at Sunderland was non committal with his reply of "I don't know, it depends".
