Sunderland are joining the battle for Le Havre left-back Benjamin Mendy.
The position of left-back has been the subject of a lot of conjecture since the end of the season, with Danny Rose returning to Tottenham after his loan spell expired leaving us without a recognised left-back in the squad.
Mendy has been compared in his homeland to former France captain Patrice Evra.
The 18-year-old Mendy is a long-term Arsenal target and Lyon, Marseille, Tottenham Hotspurs and Rennes are also interested.
