Transfer Talk: Bardo to reunite with former boss

@Sunderlandafc11

According to the Daily Mirror Hull City boss Steve Bruce is ready to go back to Sunderland for right back Phil Bardsley and rescue him from his row with Paolo di Canio.

Bardsley joined Sunderland in 2008 making over 167 Appearances  for Sunderland scoring 7 goals

Sunderland won't stand in Bardsley's way should Hull come knocking.

The 27-Year-old was pictured lying on the floor covered in £50 notes late on the night Sunderland’s place in next season’s Premier League was confirmed, Arsenal beat Wigan 4-1

Bardsley had anyway been a bit-part player last season after never recovering from missing the whole of pre-season through injury. Despite being the club’s only specialist right-back he started just 11 league matches, often watching from the bench as midfielder Craig Gardner filled in for him. Di Canio will hardly have been enamoured by the fact both defenders have appealed against their fines. Bardsley was docked two weeks’ wages, £60,000.

Sundeland have already signed Modibo Diakite on a Bosman, Di Canio is now eyeing his former Lazio teammate Luis Pedro Cavanda as Phil Bardsley’s replacement.

Cavanda is a Belgian Under 21 international of Angolan descent who made his Lazio debut in 2009 but only really established himself in the first team last season, 22-Year-old has made 29 apperances for Lazio since joining them in 2007 from  Standard Liège

Lazio are believed to value the youngster around the £4million mark but Sunderland would offer little more than half that sum.

Di Canio is keen to play with genuinely attacking full-backs at Sunderland next season and Cavanda fits that bill far more than anyone the Black Cats currently have on their books.
