Transfer Talk: Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. 

Although Liverpool have offered £8m and Sunderland's asking price is £10m, an agreement is expected to be reached in the coming days.

Sunderland, though, will not be keen to sell Mignolet, who was their Player of the Year in the 2012/13 season.

The 24-year-old has played 101 games since joining from Belgian club St Truiden for £2m in June 2010.

Liverpool's current first-choice keeper Pepe Reina has been linked with a move to Spanish champions Barcelona.
