Transfer Talk: Biabiany not for sale

Sunderland could be thwarted in their attempts to sign Jonathan Biabiany after his club Parma declared he was not for sale.

Sky Italia reported that Sunderland manger, Paulo Di Canio, were eyeing a deal for the 25-year-old, who can play as a striker or a winger.

However, the move would be a complicated one given the former France Under-21 international is co-owned by old club Sampdoria and Parma, who bought 50% of his registration from Inter Milan after a successful loan spell in 2009.

When quizzed on his future, Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi confirmed to the Italian media his desire to keep Biabiany at Stadio Ennio Tardini and promised talks with Sampdoria over a move to sign the rest of his registration.

"We only want to sell one major player [this summer] so Biabiany is not on the market," he said. "We would like to keep the guy, we'll talk to Sampdoria."

Sevilla, Inter Milan, Galatasaray, PSG, Roma, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio,  Liverpool and Napoli have also been linked with a move for Biabiany in the past.
