Ba is likely to continue his development on the fringes of the 1st team and in the Sunderland Development Team.

The talented France under-20 youngster is out of contract with the Ligue 2 team so Sunderland would have to pay  compensation but they are prepared to take a gamble on a player who has attracted interest from Tottenham, Newcastle United, Wigan and Borussia Dortmund in recent seasons

The French Under-20 international only featured 12 times last season, netting 1 goal from a holding central position
