Welcome to the Home Page of The Rugby and District Medical Society. The Society was formed in 1921, making it one of the oldest in the country, and has met on a regular basis ever since.

Despite its name, it admits Doctors, Dentists and Vets as Members and exists to promote medical, dental and veterinary knowledge and awareness through scientific presentations and to encourage social engagement and rapport through social events.

The light-hearted logo has the Rugby football at its heart (reflecting Rugby's fame for the origin of the popular game of Rugby Union at Rugby School in 1823.) Around its upper half, the twin serpents, associated with the caduceus of Asclepius, are intertwined, their lower bodies transforming into stethoscope tubes, terminating with the acoustic chestpiece at the base of the ball.

The scrolled motto is a matching pun in Latin - "Life`s a ball."!

This website was established in August 2012 and will be developed further for the benefit of the Members and the General Public.
