Christmas Lunch 2013

            Our social event for the end of the year was, as always a Christmas lunch and it was a grand affair.  We chose, as before, Townend Bowling club’s function suite, which we have found, over the years, to be a most comfortable and congenial place to hold such an event.  We are most grateful to the committee of the club for their kindness in allowing us the use of the suite.

            The Chairman’s dram set the scene at the start, and       Margaret Coleman and her team once again provided an excellent lunch which was enjoyed by everyone in attendance, and there were twenty six people there.  The raffle was conducted this time by Claire Muir, giving Sarah Worthey a well deserved break, since she had been doing the honours for several years.  Congratulations to Claire, for it was a marvellous raffle, and as in previous years, Lewis and Jack Campbell ensured that winners received their prizes promptly.

            We were all very pleased  that Amy McGrandles was able to be with us this year and were all delighted by her wonderful, melodic voice.  However, time seemed to fly past and there was only time for a couple of more entertainment items before the bus arrived to take people home again.
