Sadly, we had to say goodbye this week to Kathleen. Rarely missing Sunday Club until very recently, Kathleen passed away in mid-March, aged 90, after a short illness. A large congregation did her proud at Bramcote on 20th March, and many family members along with Red Bar friends gathered around her empty corner seat afterwards to remember her with affection.

The long drawn-out demolition of the Beeston Maltings has been completed - uninterrupted sunshine now floods in to the Red Bar all day long (perhaps for the first time since 1899!)
The etched glass windows are now illuminated in all their glory.

If you haven't looked lately, check the victoriabeeston.co.uk website, now completely updated - especially with events news. 28 March is Saltaire Brewery evening, and from 29 March to 1 April it's the Vic's regular Easter Beer Festival. See the Vic website shortly for beer notes and music programme.
