Planning permission was granted on the 5th April 2012 for a new carriage friendly arena and support facilities for the Argyll RDA Driving Group (SCIO). These new facilities will enable the group to not only expand our services to more members of the community but will allow us to greatly improve the experience of each of our drivers. We will be able to help drivers develop new skills and enjoy the thrill of competing. These things not only enhance lives but help to improve the confidence of many of our drivers. Group members who were previously unable to travel to other groups for competitions will now be able to be a part of these events here on home ground. A major benefit will be for those of our drivers who because of their disabilities are unable to wear safety hats which are essential when out on the roads but which cause them great discomfort. Once the arena is up and running they will be able to participate with sporting activities in the arena in comfort.
