         Project Bramble

We are the Argyll, Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Driving Group (SCIO) based in Benderloch a few miles outside of Oban on the beautiful north west coast of the Scottish highlands.

We provide equestrian sporting activities to local people of all age groups with various disabilities.  The fact that we use specially adapted horse drawn carriages means that even those who are wheelchair bound can participate and enjoy our sport.

The Argyll RDA Driving Group (SCIO) caters for all age groups, from all walks of life; including some very seriously disabled people, the terminally ill, and the elderly.

Just because a person falls into one of these categories doesnt mean they don't want to try new things.  Outdoor activities, competition and challenges enrich life and everyone should have the opportunity to experience these things.

Welcome to Project Bramble

The aim of Project Bramble is to provide support facilities adjacent to the new carriage friendly arena which has been donated to the group. Planning permission was granted on 5th April 2012 and we now need to raise funds in order to provide the support facilities such as a carriage store, associated equipment, parking and access.  All of course being suitable for the wide range ranging disabilities experienced by our drivers.

Our local group has a huge demand, more than we can currently handle.  Having these new facilities would mean that we could offer our services to more people, enriching more lives and enhancing the individual experience of every driver!

If you feel that you could help in any way as a sponsor, patron, skills sponsor, materials or equipment sponsor, or even a volunteer please contact us through our contacts page. Thank you.

Bramble is the horse pictured at the head of the page, being one of the mainstays of the Argyll RDA Driving Group (SCIO). We called the project after him as he is, apart from being a wonderful, patient, hardworking horse, a very well known character in the local area. He is a skewbald, that refers to his colour markings; brown and white. All of our horses are friendly and would love to meet you.
