On Fridays all classes will have interval from 10.45 – 11.00. (Swimming times or the time of the visiting teachers may effect interval times on particular days). Wet play times – all classes have interval 11.00 – 11.15 |
Visiting teachers
Visiting teachers come to the school on set days.
Timetables are displayed in the staff room and on the doors of general purpose rooms to ensure pupils and teachers are aware when areas are in use.
The school gym is constantly in use and the timetable needs to be adhered to. Priority goes to the visiting teachers. Mrs Deplano uses the gym all day Tuesday and Thursday.
As lunch is served in the gym hall it needs to be cleared by midday in order to allow the kitchen staff time to set up for the lunches.
The GP room is used on a Tuesday morning for musical tuition with Mrs Wychrij. Mrs Graham comes in to take Gaelic medium classes for Gaelic singing on a Wednesday morning. Assembly takes place on a Friday morning.
Time remaining for each of these rooms is set out and individual classes can select a slot for themselves
Assemblies
As previously agreed, a general theme will be chosen and each chaplain will base their assemblies on this theme.
*At each assembly, a particular class will contribute something to the assembly, which will be based on the theme being covered. The class contribution will be based on a teacher or classes interpretation of the theme on some aspect of it. *Hymns for each term will be decided before hand and made available to all classes along with any music that is applicable.
December will focus on the Christmas Story and Christmas Themes which may or may not be linked to the bigger theme. If a particular chaplain has to cancel his day for any reason, he will contact one of the others to arrange a swap.
Whole school assemblies take place once a month on a Friday afternoon.
Whole school assemblies will be used to celebrate success and achievement, pass on information, reinforce school rules and watch individual, group and class performances of different kinds. Whole school assemblies will take place each term and will be led by the head Teacher or in his absence, other members of the S.M.T.
P1 pupils will not attend whole school assemblies until after the October break. Classes are asked to move quietly to and from assemblies and to be punctual. All pupils and staff will attend whole school assemblies and at time pupils or classes may be asked to prepare material for a particular assembly. All times there will also be Gaelic specific assemblies to help develop the oral Gaelic agenda.
The Head Teacher in many cases will work directly with the pupils/classes involved.
