This cup fixture started well for PDG, despite Culloden being confident off the back of a good cup win against first division Merkinch. PDG dominated play and created some good chances but failed to capitalise whilst the defence looked solid, G.Macleod having very little to do except slice a few clearances! Ansell and Brown were combining well together in the centre with Cooke and Morrison slowly beginning to find their feet as striking partners. Despite the chances it was 0-0 at half time.
After the break Culloden came out stronger and managed to break the deadlock by latching on to a misplaced Mackenzie pass and shooting past G.Macleod. This seemed to spark PDG into a bit of life and a through pass from McLaughlan set up Ross Macleod to score a much needed goal. Gardner replaced Morrison and put in a good shift up front while Abernethy came on for Cameron and with only a few minutes left, the pressure paid off with Keith Abernethy scoring with his head (or possibly shoulder, or neck) from a R.Macleod corner to clinch the game for PDG.
