Division 2 League Fixture

This was a must win game for PDG Choppers and one in which we were looking to build on last weeks performance.  A much more settled side this week with the back four looking comfortable and providing a solid base to attack from.  The first half saw PDG Choppers controlling most of the play with Culloden having few obvious chances.  Brown and Ross were playing very well together in the centre and R. Macleod was seeing plenty of opportunity to get behind the defence.  The deadlock remained at half time however as a few chances went astray. 

In the second half the game opened up with chances at either end.  G. Macleod made some good saves and Brown received another booking to add to his collection for dissent.  After bringing on Maclellan for Stephens, Ross Macleod was able to exploit some space and found the net off the post following a goalkeeping error to put us in front.  Chances at both ends followed with Ross Macleod doubling the lead after getting in behind the right back and showing good composure to clip the ball over the on rushing goalkeeper.  With 15 minutes still to play further solid defending maintained a clean sheet and birthday boy Ross Macleod completed his hat trick with a fine strike into the top corner, putting the game beyond Culloden.  Both strikers were substituted late on for Cameron and Gardener and Neale Brown added the final gloss to the result with a cheeky free kick low into the bottom corner.  A much more accomplished performance.
