Game number four and the first signs of improvement. With no substitutes and a few players carrying knocks (and some getting knocks during the game) the second half was always going to be difficult. During the first half play was open with some good interchanges in the midfield between Brown and Rigg allowing the strikers to get onto the ball. The defence was comfortable despite Iain playing with an injury and unable to sprint (insert own joke here). The first goal came after some good passing play allowed Brian Cooke to control the ball in the box and score with a composed finish. The game continued this way before Cooke set up James Morrison for his opening goal of the season. There were few chances for Ace City, their best hitting the outside of the post and PDG Choppers went in 2-0 up at the break.
The second half brought a few chances but persistant fouling on James Morrison made it difficult for him to get into the game. With Ace City bringing on fresh legs PDG Choppers increasingly found themselves defending and Ace City's first goal came after 20 minutes of the second half played with a 20 yard strike. PDG continued to compete but the latter stages of the second half were blighted by persistant dissent, some players continually complaining to the referee. The second goal came for Ace City with ten minutes to go and the sucker punch came with only two minutes left. In the last minute R. Macleod had a chance to score but sliced his shot wide.
