Excursion to Llanelly House

Society Members, friends and partners awaiting their guided tour of Llanelly House, an historic Georgian mansion located in the heart of Llanelli town.  It is one of the most notable historic properties in Carmarthenshire being an excellent example of an early c.18th Georgian town house. It had been described as 'the most outstanding domestic building of its early Georgian type to survive in South Wales'. After decades of neglect the building has been restored to display some of its former grandeaur when it was the home of the Stepney family.  The house is presented using the very latest advances in visual technology and is a work in progress with a heritage facility to be added as funds become available.  You may remember that The Llanelly House project effectively started following the 2003 BBC Restoration series, in which the building was an acclaimed finalist, championed by Laurence Llewelyn Bowen.

Everyone who journeyed west had an enjoyable and informative visit.
