First Holy CommunionCatholics believe the sacrament of the Eucharist, or Holy Communion, is both a sacrifice and a sacred meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. This sacrament is the source of great graces that sanctify us and help us grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ. As we receive Christ's Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God. First Communion is a very important and holy day for Catholic children because they receive, for the very first time, the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. By continuing to receive Holy Communion for the rest of their lives, Catholics become one with Christ and are prepared to share in His eternal life. Please keep visiting this page for updates in your child's development.
