A big turn out of 15 although we seemed to lose Matt literally from the start at Westcott. Simon took us up onto Leith Hill as he wanted to try out the 1st 'Cocks' trail which is a re working of an old favorite now being called 'Cockabilly'.

The trail rode quite nicely but needs a bit of bedding in, still a good effort by those involved so well done to them. After reaching the bottom Toby took over and lead us up onto Leith Hill - it was a very stop start period of the ride with a bit of fettleing going on, trails being damaged by forestry work, bike mechanicals and a few people feeling a little below par.

Poor Gareth had to head off early after wrecking his rear mech, Richard wasn't his usal self and Pete also left early with mechanical issues. John and Mike had creeped off early to the Plough and not long after Charlie and Huw joined them so as we eventually made it up to the tower the group was much reduced.

From now on though and with a more mangeable number of riders the ride flowed much better and Toby lead the group on a tour of lots of the plentiful singletrack that Leith Hill has to offer. There were a couple of short sections of trail incorporated that we never or at least very very really use just to mix things up a bit and a few old favorites. After going around for an hour or so we headed back to the Plough to meet the others and enjoy a pint in the pub which is now under new ownership - more on that to follow shortly.
