Well besides my commute to work yesterday which racked up 22 miles today was my 1st proper ride of the year. Having been put off by the rain early doors I eventually got out at about mid day for a couple of hours

It was hard going, wet and muddy but as always it was great to be out and as I went on I found myself rather enjoying the ride despite the conditions.

I did a lop that took in Ranmore, then Norbury, down to Westhumble then back up to Norbury and all the way over to Leatherhead

I decided to take a tea stop here at Pilgrim cycles and really enjoyed my Hot Chocolate and chocolate cake. Whilst there it was fairly quite but a couple of guys did come in to take out 2 hire bikes and there was another customer chatting with the owner - its a cracking little shop/cafe, hopefully its doing ok.

My route home took me up through Denbies and then I came through this tunnel - anyone recognise it ! - I did eventually get home tired wet and muddy but also satisfied having had a most enjoyable ride to start off the year - A quick hose down of both the bike and myself followed before a well deserved hot shower
