Post Christmas bimble

Finally managed to get out on the bike having been knocked sideways by a germ in the week leading up to Christmas and then of course having all the Christmas festivities to deal with meaning bike time was sparce indeed.

Still, with just 4 days to go in 2014 and 46 miles still needed to hit that 4,000 mile makr for the year I took the opportunity for a couple of hours in the saddle this morning. Nothing to exciting or exzilerating but a traditional loop out over Abinger Roughs and up onto Pitch and Winterfold.

From Winterfold I made my way over to Farley Heath and then Blackheath doing a little bit of exploring as I went which bis always fun and often surprising as you work out new ways of joining trails you already know together. I was on a bit of a time limit and still not fully recovered from my germ so from Blackheath headed back for home.

The route back went via Shere, Gomshall, Abinger Hammer then the roughs and back to Westcott - I encountered lots of happy people out today, walking, cycling and horse riding on a what was a fairly decent winters day and once the bike was cleaned went of to the Drummond Arms to meet extended family for a late lunch - lovely.
